WHO WE ARE
From the vine trough to bottling
The Consortium Le Chiantigiane was set up in … and now has a great patrimony of 2,460 hectares of working vineyards.
This patrimony is divided among 2,000 Tuscan associated winegrowers who, through membership of cooperative wineries, got together in 1967 to set up the Consortium Le Chiantigiane for the bottling and sale of their wines.
From the start the primary aim of Le Chiantigiane has been the protection, distribution and propagation of Tuscan excellence throughout the world.
The transformation of the grapes takes place in the wineries of the associate winemakers, using modern and state-of-the-art technology.
From the vine through to bottling, from the choice of the grape to the creation of the blends, Le Chiantigiane is always present and provides its members with technical, agronomic and technological support to ensure the perfect quality of the wines.
Le Chiantigiane has two bottling plants, one at its headquarters in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa in the heart of Chianti and the other in Madonnino di Braccagni in the province of Grosseto, in the Maremma.
The two plants, equipped with modern technology, produce annually around 15 million bottles in the various formats to meet market demand (375 ml., 750 ml. bottles, 1.5 lt. fiasco).
large-scale distribution blends with tradition and quality
For the last thirty years, Le Chiantigiane has also been present in the Maremma, where it has had excellent results in terms of production and awards.
Wine from the Maremma is increasingly appreciated and in demand, showing that quality comes from a meticulous work of research, targeted investment and decades of experience acquired on the territory.
In the late 1990s, thanks to its achievements in Tuscany, Le Chiantigiane extended its activity to the rest of Italy. Abruzzo, Umbria, Sardinia, Sicily and Lazio were the first regions to collaborate with the consortium.
Le Chiantigiane is present throughout Italy in all the most important distributive networks, with a vast network of wholesalers and retailers and combines the industrial dimension of viticulture with the limited production of the small wine cellar so that large-scale distribution blends with tradition and quality.
Thanks to its organization, the consortium guarantees a meticulous and efficient sales service worldwide and is continually reinforcing its key commercial contacts on foreign markets with Europe, Asia and America.
‘Unity is indeed strength’ and today the Chiantigiane group bottles and distributes around fifty types of wine, using state-of-the-art technology and is the leading Italian firm for the sale of Chianti in 750 ml. bottles.
In large-scale distribution Italian. Tradition, passion, research for quality and experience acquired on the territory, make Le Chiantigiane a consortium with a priceless patrimony. A patrimony placed at the service of the consumer!
